Paul McNestry

BSc, PG Dip, MCSP

CHARTERED PHYSIOTHERAPIST

Hello, I’m Paul. I moved to Sheffield in 1989 and studied mechanical engineering, achieving a BEng honours degree before retraining as a physiotherapist in Bradford. I graduated from Bradford University with first class honours and have worked in the NHS in Sheffield since 1999.

Over the last 25 years I have developed my career towards a specialism in musculoskeletal disorders of the lower limb with a strong emphasis on expert assessment, hands on therapy and rehabilitation. I  continued training as part of my professional development and have a post graduate certificate which included topics covering advanced clinical reasoning theory and medical imaging and interpretation.

I have been lucky enough to develop very close working relationships with many orthopaedic consultant colleagues in the NHS in Sheffield across hip, knee and foot and ankle disciplines, as well as sports and exercise medicine. I’m often relied upon by these consultant colleagues to treat their patients who have more complex presentations and conditions. I have a strong belief in evidence based medicine but I’m also practically minded and can tailor personal treatment plans that are both effective and achievable.

When not at work I like to spend time with my family, friends and my dog. I am a passionate football fan and enjoy cycling, walking and running.

HCPC registered.

Chartered Physiotherapist with the CSP.
